Hi, I’m Aaron, founder of The Friendly Helper. I’ve lived on the south side of South Bend for over 14 years, and I started this service to bring dependable, community-based help to people who just need a hand—without the hassle.
We’re not a big company. There’s no call center or long wait times. Most jobs are handled by me personally, sometimes with help from a couple of trusted associates (and occasionally my daughters!). When you hire The Friendly Helper, you’re getting real people with real experience—and a real commitment to getting the job done right.

I’ve spent decades working with my hands and solving real-world problems. My experience includes:
Summers in underground irrigation, winters in general construction and drywall
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Michigan Technological University
Worked in the automotive industry developing steering wheels, seatbelts, pedals, and seating systems
Invested in and managed rental properties, handling everything from rehab to tenant management
Founded TOUGHRAK LLC, a business that manufactures and sells powder-coated steel hooks
Started The Friendly Helper to bring all those skills back home to help our community

The Friendly Helper offers competitive, transparent, and fair pricing. Each job is unique and is quoted based on the requirements of the customer.
There are no contracts to sign. Each quotation will describe the scope of work being quoted. If the quotation is accepted, the work will be completed as described.
We serve in and around the south side of South Bend, Indiana.
I will always be on the job site. Occasionally, I will have someone along to help me with larger projects.
